Job Description
Aorta Laboratories Private Limited has an opening within its Sales function for the position of Area Sales Manager (ASM) in the Consumer Product Division. This is a leadership role responsible for driving commercial strategy, achieving primary and secondary sales targets (sell-in and sell-out), and expanding market presence within the assigned territory.
The ASM will be accountable for leading and developing the field sales team, strengthening channel partnerships, ensuring effective market execution, and contributing to the acquisition of new key customers. The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in FMCG, pharmaceutical, or allied consumer-focused industries. The position is based in Patna, Bihar, with responsibility for managing General Trade.
Job Responsibilities
- Achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets for primary and secondary sales across assigned brands and SKUs.
- Develop and execute market strategies to drive revenue growth, identify opportunity gaps, and ensure effective implementation through the sales team.
- Recruit, train, manage, and motivate a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs) to deliver consistent performance.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, and Key Account teams to align business objectives.
- Manage distributor and channel partner relationships to ensure healthy ROI, effective coverage, and operational efficiency.
- Plan and execute channel expansion, distributor development, and new-town market entry initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to merchandising standards, planograms, and brand visibility norms to maintain strong in-market presence.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly sales forecasting for key brands and SKUs to support supply planning and optimal execution.
- Monitor market execution, track performance metrics, and implement corrective actions where required.
Key Deliverables
- Consistent achievement of primary and secondary sales targets.
- Development, training, and retention of high-performing BDEs.
- Expansion into new geographies and strengthening of business development initiatives.

- Proven experience in General Trade sales, preferably within FMCG, pharmaceutical, or consumer healthcare sectors.

- Strong analytical skills for forecasting, planning, and performance tracking.
Team Size
- Direct management of 5 Business Development Executives (BDEs).
